Naya K. Pearlman, a Member of law firm Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A., has been recognized in New Jersey Law Journal’s New Leaders of the Bar for her impressive accomplishments and great promise in the legal profession.

The recognition, considered one of New Jersey Law Journal’s most important, identifies attorneys who represent the future of New Jersey’s legal industry.  The winners, named by a distinguished panel of outside professionals, will be honored at the Professional Excellence event hosted by the Law Journal on June 21 at Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park.

Pearlman concentrates her practice on tax law and matters relating to tax structuring, planning, compliance, and controversies. She provides tax advice on entity formations and on transactional matters, and serves as tax counsel in mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, and in joint ventures.  Pearlman’s practice includes cross-border and international tax law matters, including the structuring of foreign ownerships, foreign gift reporting, and foreign bank account and asset disclosures.

In addition to serving as tax counsel on business matters, Pearlman regularly works with individual clients on estate and income tax planning. She advises individuals on estate plans and devises wealth preservation and tax strategies. She also advises fiduciaries during all phases of the estate and trust administrations and represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities.

Since 2014, Pearlman has been selected for inclusion on the list of New Jersey Rising Stars, published by Super Lawyers Magazine, a distinction limited to 2.5% of attorneys in New Jersey.  In her spare time, she serves as a member of the Bear Tavern PTO, the Princeton Club of Bryn Mawr Alumnae Association, and as a volunteer for the Hopewell Valley Girl Scouts.

Pearlman received her LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law, her J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, her M.S. from Baruch College, and her A.B. from Bryn Mawr College.
